I grew up FAR from dirt and diesel.
By dumb luck, I got a job in construction fresh out of high school.
That 18-year-old, shaking in his brand-new work boots, found his life's purpose. But the work was only beginning...
Years later, while working in the heavy construction industry, I began sharing photos on social media. One, two, six, I quit my job to start a company called BuildWitt, dedicated to telling the Dirt World's (critical infrastructure + natural resources) story.
That was over six years ago. Today, BuildWitt helps the Dirt World attract, train, and retain the next generation with marketing services, training software, and world-class leadership events.
Now, I visit construction and mining operations worldwide to grow our reach and brand. Thanks to the wonder of RUclips, I can share my experiences with you!

Liebherr's 800-Ton Mining Excavator Explained
Dirt World Stickers now available at dirtworldstore.com/
This video outlines my history with the Liebherr 9800, one of the world's largest hydraulic excavators.
We start in Colmar, France, the birthplace of each Liebherr Mining excavator. Liebherr was nice enough to have us for a tour years ago, my first glimpse at one of these monster machines.
But then, to see one at work, we had to travel down under to Australia, where nearly every 9800 made lives.
We take you through operations with Pembroke, Thiess, National Group, MacKellar, and Bravus, visiting five different 9800s working on three sites. Yes, I know I'm spoiled!!
To learn more about the machine, you can check out Liebherr's website at ...

Welcome to SunZia, a remarkable undertaking to build 900 new wind turbines in the New Mexico desert to produce 3,500 megawatts of energy for America's Southwest. Blattner, a company with nearly a century of history, is building the project. However, before they can assemble each tower and turbine, each needs a solid foundation. Blattner crews are excavating holes for each, tying enormous rebar ...

While visiting Westrac Caterpillar, the official Cat dealer in New South Wales, Australia, they let me play with one of their coolest toys - the Cat remote operator station. The station, comprised of the same seat and controls inside a machine, combined with a sports bar-level TV screens, can operate remote-enabled machines from ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Cat first pioneered the technology for dang...
Phosphate Mining in the Middle East
Просмотров 41 тыс.Месяц назад
We visited Jordanian phosphate mines last December thanks to our friends at The Near East Equipment Company, Jordan's Komatsu dealer. It's hard to overstate the importance of phosphate in the world - without it, we couldn't feed over half of the humans on Earth. However, the mining process is somewhat straightforward. Mining companies use large excavators, like the PC3000 and PC1250s we saw, to...

Meet Jimmy Starbuck, a man who "digs holes and carts dirt." Specifically, he owns Starbuck Excavation and Trucking, a Melbourne-based excavation company specializing in complex basement excavation projects. I'm ALWAYS sure to visit Jimmy when I'm down under, so he was naturally our first visit on our latest trip. During this visit, we saw his team first working on a high-dollar residential base...

Energy spent to build this probably went way over of what this thing will generate...
There's a low-boy to transport this monster ?? :-)
One scoop from that 9800 would probably double my lifetime total for digging and hauling. The scale of these machines is unbelievable!
They produce a lot hauled for them back In the day at hood river
@sreetips makes tons of video's regarding this borderline alchemy they make gold with check him out
if a regular dump truck is called a dump truck then this one is just DUMMMMMP THICK
Weld it up add concrete
When are you moving to Australia?
I wish
Operater vacancy available?? 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Smashing video thank you.
thanks for watching
WE DONT NEED COPPER MINES!!! WE CAN PRINT IT INTO EXISTENCE. for ever dollar we print 20 nickels spring into existence. Why bother digging a hole. (. this message brought to you by modern money theorists in the bacon, lettuce, community.)
Old boys need a big sandbox XD i want so
Fascinating machine. I have one of these in LEGO form, along with a D11 Dozer. Just need LEGO to do a Cat 797 to round it out.
if only I could afford those models
Outstanding video 👏🏻👏🏻😍😍 I love diggers! Your sooo lucky to have been up close and personal with these massive machines.... you can die happy now 😂😂 I just wondering why little or none in the 🇺🇸 ??
most US mines run electric rope shovels -- our operations usually aren't as remote, so power is easier to get right to the mine
A deck with a view!
Blah Blah Blah. We all know these things have a limited life span. The labor party plan to build 3300 of these useless piles of poop along the Great Dividing Range of Queensland Australia. But of course if you ask to see the Environment Impact Study as is the usual way to go about things the answer is , Oh this is about saving the environment so there is no need to worry about such procedures . Never mind all the transmission lines which will have to be built to carry the power out of the forest.
What about the environment..the birds
Hey Aaron, it would be cool if you could dedicate a video properly explaining double benching, single benching and top loading. A lot of people probably don't understand. For diggers in Australia, these are the only three methods used for digging dirt.
I'll second this comment. I am sitting here trying to work out just how that 9800 will work it's way from right to left along the bench when it keeps on digging out in front of itself? If I am puzzled then I am pretty sure that there are plenty of other viewers who are in the same position. 😊 We had a big excavator for the bulk earthworks of our two storey underground car park at work, it could fill a tipper and dog trailer in three passes each (from memory) but the 9800 would make it look like a toy. Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
noted!!
Dammmm back in Australia again ahy. I live in Australia. Great content. About time . Seems as tho we have more dirt in ground work and mine everything stupidly. Makes sense I come to Australia
Cubic yards, not yards. These are not the same thing.
And take away the government subsidy and it all goes away. Bullcrap garbage
Long overdue sction, a global inspiration
What about cobbecting afjacent pillars with beams and install dar panels?
Isn’t the Cat 6090 the biggest in the world?🤔
yeah it's much bigger they just don't make them anymore
Treat your workforce better
Très bon reportage, bien que je ne sais pas si cette culture intensive soit une bonne solution. ** Very good report, although I don't know if this intensive cultivation is a good solution.
Très bon reportage. Des explications claires (plus des valeurs métriques) sans superflu, une musique bien dosée et des images impeccables. Du bon boulot ! Je me réjouis de voir la suite...😎 ** Very good report. Clear explanations (plus metric values) without superfluity, well-balanced music and impeccable images. Good job! I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next...😎
WHY do the people who make these excellent videos , insist on the damned irritating music ? It detracts considerably from the enjoyment of hearing about the data. First class video !
Love what you do mate, especially aussie videos , you should come to yancoals Mt thorley in the huntervalley Australia, it has everything for 9800's,9600's Hitachi 5600, p&H shovels, 3 draglings many different trucks, drills and more ,Anyway apprentice what you do and keep up the 5 star content. 🇦🇺🇦🇺⛏️⛏️👨🏽🏭
hopefully one day -- I'd love to see the Hunter Valley
Everyone knows that solar fails 100% when the sun sets. The same happens to a wind factory when the wind stops, sometimes for days and even weeks. Happy days if energy poverty is your thing.
Do they no longer manufacture the Cat 6090 (RH400) cos that's the biggest excavator
no I think they technically can, but no one's ordered one in a long time. They shut the factory in Germany that built them down
The grease glob falling while you were in the bucket shot is hilarious. Splat and all. @7:52.
Now just imagine micro nuclear power plants. Wind Turbines is one of the least clean by carbon foot print.
What's of for ? Cockroaches. The new Woke diet for you!!! It's not salty enough for reptiles like salties...
Ahh finally the content I’ve been hoping for! Pardon my lack of knowledge. But does Aron do something beyond this channel to get him invited out to these places? Because I feel like one 15-20 min video isn’t enough. He could make hour long versions of his videos and I’d watch every second. Anybody know?
we do paid media work for companies too but videos like this are unpaid -- we just want access most people don't have and the mining companies want exposure. A win-win
Australia is a huge country with huge mineral deposits that require huge machines... add Aussies with huge balls that consider it just another day on the job...
It would be interesting to see how they get those giant machines from the factory to the digging site.
Good fashioned drum chopping areas

Thank god all the people who dislike clean energy are all the lazy losers of the world that don’t have any power to do more than just whine about progress, innovation and necessary action! Good for all these game changers doing the real work and making our country and world a better place, I look forward to seeing the next video like this on the next farm!! 🎉
The old lie ?
I hauled an Excavator Bucket for a 9?00 to Trapper Mining, Craig Co. 13' 6" wide x 63,000# from Port of Galveston, TX, had to go the long way around via Wyoming and back into CO., with pilot car. Deer were roaming the streets in town, at 14 degrees below F.❤
that's awesome
Your tax dollars at waste for the power system of a Third World country.

Delivered parts to one working at Christmas Creek in the Pilbara a few times. Until you're standing next to one you don't realize how big they actually are. Like anything though, when you're operating one shift after shift it does get pretty monotonous.
